Indian rotomoulding industry: Sailing on waves of innovations
Over the years, rotomoulding has become synonymous with the manufacturing of large water storage tanks, which constitute about 90 per cent of its end-user segments. Although the demand for these containers is still significant in India, the industry was facing a redundancy in terms of innovation and specialised industrial applications. However, with flexibility in design and low-cost tooling being its major strengths, the process has now started looking beyond the conventional applications. Machine manufacturers and moulders are cashing in on these strengths to produce innovative and cost effective products catering to a wide range of end-users, something termed unthinkable until the recent past. Better economic realisations and greater business opportunities have enabled the rotomoulding industry to break free from its redundancy, and ride the wave while the tide is still high. Read on.
